Kia Corp. on Thursday reported its fourth-quarter net income of 1.62 trillion won (US$1.2 billion), down 20.5 percent from a year earlier. The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 2.46 trillion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 2.62 trillion won a year ago. Revenue rose 5 percent to 24.32 trillion won. The earnings fell short of market expectations.
