Kia Corp., South Korea's second-largest automaker, said Thursday its monthly sales rose 0.6 percent on-year in April, as demand for its products strengthened overseas. Kia sold 261,022 vehicles last month, up from 259,397 units a year ago, the company said in a statement. Exports rose 1.6 percent to 213,081 units, while domestic sales fell 3.2 percent to 47,505 units during the cited period. Kia's Sorento SUV was the best-selling model at home, shipping 7,865 units, while its Sportage SUV was the most popular model overseas, selling 41,898 units, the company said. A Kia official said, "Through the release of competitive models, such as the enhanced EV6, EV3 and K8 models, we aim to improve sales and profitability." Source: Yonhap News Agency
