Kia Corp., South Korea's second-largest automaker, said Thursday its monthly sales rose 4.2 percent on-year in January backed by strong growth of domestic demand. Kia sold 244,940 vehicles in January, up from 235,105 units a year ago on robust demand for its models at home, the company said in a statement. Domestic sales climbed 15.3 percent on-year to 44,608 units last month while exports went up 2 percent to 200,073 during the cited period. Kia's Sorrento SUV was the best-selling model at home while its Sportage SUV was the most popular model overseas, the company said. Source: Yonhap News Agency
