King and Queen-Mother Provide Aid to Displaced Families in Preah Vihear


Preah Vihear: His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni and Her Majesty Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk have extended humanitarian assistance to 1,270 displaced families sheltering at the Wat Po 5000 Trees Safety Centre in Kulen Thbong village, Kulen Thbong commune, Kulen district, Preah Vihear province.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the royal donation, consisting of essential food supplies, was delivered this morning by Samdech Moha Montrei Kuy Sophal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Royal Palace. H.E. Prak Sovann, President of the Preah Vihear Provincial Council; H.E. Kim Rithy, Governor of Preah Vihear province; provincial council members; deputy governors; heads of departments; and local authorities were also present at the distribution ceremony.



During the event, Samdech Kuy Sophal conveyed a Royal Message from Their Majesties, expressing their profound concern for the Cambodian people. The message reportedly inquired about the health and living conditions of their “beloved children and grandchildren,” reiterating their constant compassion for citizens facing hardship.



Samdech Kuy Sophal highlighted that this act of generosity underscores Their Majesties’ continuous and close attention to the well-being and safety of the populace, particularly during difficult times. He described the royal donations as a potent symbol of love and solidarity.



Governor Kim Rithy, speaking on behalf of provincial authorities and the displaced residents, expressed immense gratitude to Their Majesties for their boundless compassion. He also thanked Samdech Kuy Sophal for representing the monarchs in delivering the crucial aid.



The governor emphasised that this valuable royal gift would significantly alleviate the burdens of the affected families, restore their hope, and serve as a reminder that the King and the Royal Government are consistently supportive and attentive to their plight.
