KT andG Q1 net profit up 4.2 pct to 285.6 bln won

KT andG Corp. on Thursday reported its first-quarter net income of 285.6 billion won (US$208.5 million), up 4.2 percent from a year earlier. Operating income for the January-March period was 236.6 billion won, down 25.3 percent from a year ago, the company said in a regulatory filing. Sales fell 7.4 percent to 1.29 trillion won. The operating profit was 14.7 percent lower than the average estimate, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
