Lotte Wellfood Q2 net income up 227.9 pct to 40.7 bln won

Lotte Wellfood Co. on Friday reported its second-quarter net profit of 40.7 billion won (US$29.7 million), up 227.9 percent from a year earlier. The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 63.3 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 48.6 billion won a year ago. Sales rose 0.3 percent to 1.04 trillion won. The operating profit was 6.6 percent lower than the average estimate, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
