Mekong River Bridge Construction Project in Kratie Province is 32 Percent Complete as of Q1

The construction project of a bridge across the Mekong River in Kratie province was 32 percent complete as of the first three months of this year. The figure was shared by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) during the recent inspection visit to the construction site by H.E. Peng Ponea, Minister of MPWT. To date, 45 percent of the bridge construction work was completed, while that of connecting road reached 23 percent, the source added. The project includes the construction of a new Mekong River bridge, a connecting road connecting NR7 to NR60B, and four medium bridges of 384 metres long in total. The 1,761-metre-by-13.5-metre bridge, along with the 31.69-kilometre-long connecting road, has been being constructed by the Shanghai Construction Group. The project costs US$111.98 million, financed by the People's Republic of China, and will take about 42 months to complete.
