London: H.E. Chea Somethy, Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation of Cambodia, expressed his gratitude to Care For Children for its partnership and contributions to supporting vulnerable children in Cambodia.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the collaboration has been realized through the "Development of Family-Based Care for Children in Cambodia" project over the past three years. H.E. Minister Chea Somethy made these remarks during a meeting with Dr. Robert Glover, Founder, Executive Director, and Chairman of the Board of Care For Children, in London.
The meeting focused on the progress of the project, which aims to reform alternative care for children in Cambodia by transitioning children out of residential care, promoting family-based care, and enhancing the capacity of social services for child protection. H.E. Minister emphasized the priority of integrating children out of residential care and strengthening family-based care.
H.E. Chea Somethy also thanked Dr. Glover and the Board for facilitating the delegation's visit to London, expressing hope that the visit would provide valuable insights, especially in the areas of family-based care and child protection services.
Dr. Robert Glover, in turn, expressed gratitude to H.E. Minister and stakeholders for their support in implementing Care For Children's activities. He reaffirmed the organization's commitment to expanding its operations to additional provinces in Cambodia and expressed confidence that the delegation would gain new experiences to enhance their work in Cambodia.
