Minister of Tourism and Korean Air Discuss Flight Expansion and Tourism Cooperation

Seoul: H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, met with Mr. TAE Wook Lee, CEO and Group Head for Southeast Asia and Oceania of Korean Air, in Seoul on June 5 to discuss strengthening tourism cooperation between Cambodia and the Republic of Korea, as well as Korean Air's planned visit to Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the meeting, H.E. Huot Hak expressed his appreciation for Korean Air's continued support in providing safe and comfortable air transport services for travelers between the two countries. He urged the airline to further expand its direct and regular flight services to Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk provinces, both key tourist destinations in Cambodia.

H.E. Minister also requested Korean Air's assistance in promoting Cambodia's tourism potential by highlighting the country's favorable political and economic climate, social security, and public safety. He encouraged the airline to support the broadcast of the Ministry of Tourism's promotional video to help attract more tourists and investors.

The ministry welcomes the planned visit of Korean Air's senior leadership to Cambodia for further discussions on strengthening bilateral tourism cooperation. H.E. Huot Hak led a Cambodian delegation-including ministry officials, private sector representatives, and tour operators-to participate in the 40th Seoul International Travel Fair, the 4th World Tourism Industry Conference, and other related meetings taking place in Seoul, Republic of Korea, from June 4 to 6, 2025.
