Minister Peng Ponea Boosts Morale at Frontline Artillery Command

Phnom penh: Minister of Public Works and Transport, H.E. Peng Ponea, visited the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces' (RCAF) Artillery Command at the Third Frontline Command of Military Region 4 in Oddar Meanchey province today, extending greetings and encouragement to troops stationed along the Cambodia-Thailand border.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Minister Ponea was accompanied by a ministry delegation and joined by H.E. General Nop Ratana, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the RCAF and Commander of the Artillery Command, along with other high-ranking military officials.

During his address, H.E. Peng Ponea conveyed warm regards and encouragement to the frontline troops on behalf of the Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen; Cambodian Red Cross President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen; Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and the First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony.

He lauded the troops for their dedication and heroism in safeguarding Cambodia's territorial integrity, acknowledging the significant sacrifices made by soldiers and all security forces who bravely protect the nation's borders, often enduring separation from their families and risking their lives.

The Minister urged all commanders and border protection forces to prioritise their health and maintain their unwavering commitment to defending the Kingdom's sovereignty and territorial integrity, crucial for national peace and stability. He reiterated the Royal Government's firm stance to resolve border issues peacefully, ensuring Cambodia avoids armed conflict.

He also underscored Cambodia's clear policy and determination to transform border areas with neighbouring countries into zones of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.

H.E. Peng Ponea concluded by emphasising that developing border infrastructure and strengthening local communities along the frontier remain key priorities within Cambodia's border protection strategy.
