Phnom penh: H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, received Ms. Jyotsana Varma, Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Cambodia, along with her team, for a courtesy meeting in Phnom Penh.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the ADB representative reported on the outcomes of past project implementations and discussed new investment projects focused on Tourism Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism. These projects aim to promote the development of community-based and eco-tourism, while also improving the livelihoods of people in local communities.
During the meeting, Ms. Jyotsana Varma expressed her gratitude to H.E. Minister and the Ministry's leadership for the coordination and cooperation with ADB. This collaboration has led to the successful completion of several major tourism-supporting projects, especially the Kampot International Tourism Port Project and the development of coastal areas. Based on the positive outcomes of these past projects and the strong partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, ADB proposed further investment in new and significant tourism infrastructure projects.
H.E. Minister expressed thanks to Ms. Jyotsana Varma for her continued support to the Royal Government of Cambodia, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Cambodian people. H.E. Minister acknowledged her dedication to implementing investment activities, Tourism Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth Project, and expanding financial cooperation, which have delivered benefits to communities and citizens across Cambodia.
