A total of 2,968 electric vehicles have been registered by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport so far, an encouraging environment-friendly trend. According to the ministry's spokesperson, H.E. Phorn Rim, of the registered vehicles, there are 1,614 cars, 914 motorcycles, and 440 tricycles. Among other brands of vehicles, he said, BYD is leading the Cambodia market with 658 registered vehicles, followed by Toyota 216 and Tesla 186. The trend, which is continuing to rise, does not only show that more Cambodians can save on their transportation options but also demonstrates their awareness of the environment and harmful emissions. To support the environment-friendly option of transportation, added H.E. Phorn Rim, the Royal Government continues to expand support facilities, especially charging stations.
