Phnom penh: Commencing July 6, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training will deploy mobile units from the National Employment and Labour Agency (NEA) to recruit workers in remote communities across five provinces.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the ministry's spokesperson, H.E. Sun Mesa, unveiled the outreach initiative, noting that the first phase of the mission will cover the provinces of Prey Veng, Kampong Cham, Battambang, Kampong Thom, and Banteay Meanchey.
The recruitment caravans will be joined by major employers, including companies based in the Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone (PPSEZ), Zhejiang Special Economic Zone, members of the Textile, Apparel, Footwear, and Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC), and Spot Tech Factory.
H.E. Sun Mesa emphasized that the mobile initiative is designed to bring employment opportunities directly to local communities, particularly those with limited access to job information. Some communities simply do not receive recruitment updates, and many individuals don't know where to start when looking for work, he said.
He added that the current labor demand in Cambodia is high, with approximately 250,000 positions available in sectors such as agriculture, textile and garment manufacturing, industrial operations, tourism, and automotive services.
The ministry has also established recruitment booths at key economic zones and border checkpoints along the Cambodia-Thailand border to attract both domestic workers and Cambodian migrants returning from Thailand.
