More than 100 pieces of sandstone Buddha statues were found during the recent excavation at the complex at Ta Prohm Temple. According to the authority's news release on April 30, the statues were found by a restoration team from the Department of Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archaeology of the APSARA National Authority. The release added that the statues had been buried from 10 to 15 centimetres deep in the ground, and most of them were categorised into Bayon style. Some of the statues are half a metre high and 40 to 50 centimetres in width. The excavation is still going on, so possibly more statues can be discovered, it continued.
