A bird photography exhibition featuring a collection of the country's birds is being held at the Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) Gallery, here, from Aug 14 to Nov 30.
MTA chief executive officer Mohd Radzuan Mohamed said the exhibition themed “Feathering into a Better Future” is being organised in collaboration with the Nature Sustainable Ecosystem Society (NEST).
“The exhibition presents a collection of selected photographs contributed by big-hearted bird enthusiasts and talented photographer Mohd Sidek Noorwi,” he said at the launch of the Bird Photography Exhibition here today.
He said the aim of the exhibition is to explain to the public, especially MTA’s strategic partners, the need for sustainability and awareness of the bird ecosystem through the lens of photographers.
“This exhibition is not just about a collection of stunning images. It is a clarion call to protect and continue biodiversity in Malaysia. Visitors (to the exhibition) can explore the fascinating world of birds and get an in-depth perspective on their beauty, colour and behaviour,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mohd Radzuan said a workshop on bird conservation, sustainability and wildlife photography methodology as well as ethics will also be conducted by NEST experts.
He also said his team is always carrying out efforts to raise public awareness of the importance of protecting the environment, in line with the strategic core of the Value-Based Intermediation for Takaful (VBIT).
“MTA is committed to the opportunity to meld art and education in one space. This exhibition is not only an opportunity to admire the wonders of nature, but it is a step towards a more sustainable future,” he added.
During the ceremony, MTA also presented a RM5,000 donation to NEST president Sulaiman Salikan.
