National Bank of Cambodia and UNDP to Strengthen Cooperation with New Leadership


Phnom penh: H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), met with Mr. Enrico Gaveglia, the newly appointed Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to Cambodia, to discuss the continuation and expansion of collaborative efforts between the two organizations.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the meeting, Governor Chea Serey welcomed Mr. Gaveglia and congratulated him on his new role. She emphasized the positive history of cooperation between NBC and UNDP, highlighting past joint research efforts, high-level conferences, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the financial environment and supporting sustainable economic development.



Mr. Gaveglia expressed his enthusiasm for his new mission in Cambodia and reiterated his commitment to further fortifying the partnership with the NBC. He praised the existing collaboration, specifically in areas such as the promotion of the Riel currency, green finance, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.



Both parties agreed to work towards signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to broaden the scope of their cooperation, aiming to solidify and expand their collaborative efforts in the near future.
