National Defence Ministry Emphasises Four Key Points on Cambodia-Thailand Border Issue

Phnom Penh: The Cambodian Ministry of National Defence this afternoon issued a statement emphasizing four main points regarding the ongoing Cambodia-Thailand border dispute: The Cambodian forces have not been withdrawn from any areas under Cambodian sovereignty where they have been stationed for an extended period.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Ministry outlined that all military preparations, including stationing, deployment, adjustments, and mobilization, are conducted entirely within Cambodian territory and are solely intended to defend the country's territorial integrity. The Cambodian armed forces remain committed to supporting peaceful resolutions to border issues but are prepared to defend the nation against any form of aggression if ordered by the Royal Government.

The Ministry also highlighted its readiness to support ongoing border negotiations with Thailand, particularly through the Joint Border Commission, to progress in the demarcation and placement of border markers in unresolved areas, except those Cambodia plans to submit to the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Additionally, the Ministry urged the public and media professionals to rely exclusively on official and verified sources from the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Ministry itself for accurate and credible information.
