The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) has encouraged the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to increase its investment in the banking sector of Cambodia. The encouragement was made by H.E. Ms. Chea Serey, Governor of NBC, while receiving outgoing IFC Resident Representative in Cambodia Mr. Asad Yaqub, at the NBC's headquarters here on the afternoon of Aug. 12. The NBC governor also expressed her appreciation for the IFC's good cooperation as well as its technical assistance to the Cambodian central bank so far. For his part, Mr. Asad Yaqub shared the same idea with H.E. Ms. Chea Serey over the good cooperation between the NBC and IFC, and praised the progress of Cambodian banking system for the country's economic growth support. H.E. Ms. Chea Serey wished Mr. Asad Yaqub success in his new mission, and was convinced that his successor will continue the IFC's close cooperation with the NBC. Source: Agence Kampuchea Presse
