NEGERI SEMBILAN TVET CONSULTATIVE COUNCIL FOCUSES ON QUICK-WIN INTERVENTIONS, JOB PLACEMENTS

SEREMBAN, The Negeri Sembilan Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Consultative Council will focus more on quick-win interventions to expedite job placements with the aim to reduce the shortage of workers in the industry.

State senior executive councillor Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias said the council is also seen as the best medium to increase the number of skilled workers and support long-term economic development in the state.

“Our focus now is on the strategy to provide new talent and workforce for industrial development.

“The state's strategic location in the southern part of the Klang Valley is also an advantage as it benefits from the spillover effects of the rapid development in the Klang Valley,” he said while reading out the speech text of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun at the launch of the state's TVET Consultative Council today.

Jalaluddin said the state government is also actively promoting the Malaysian Skills Certification for Upskilling and Reskilling programmes for skilled and semi-skilled workers to increase the number of skilled workers in the state.

The state’s TVET Consultative Council consists of representatives from the Human Resources Ministry; Higher Education Ministry; Education Ministry; Rural and Regional Development Ministry; Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry; and Agriculture and Food Security Ministry.

It also comprised representatives from the Malaysian Productivity Corporation and the Department of Skills Development, as well as training providers and industry players.
