From Nov. 14, 2023 to Jan. 1, 2024, a total of 106,868 people has registered as members of the Voluntary Contribution Health Care Social Security Scheme Fund (Voluntary Contribution Scheme), administered by the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training. Of the figure, 97,031 people are self-employed, such as vendors, tricycle (PassApp) and motorbike taxi drivers; and 9,831 others are NSSF's dependents, pointed out H.E. Kata Orn, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training. The high registration rate reflects people's awareness of the importance of being a member of the NSSF following the body's campaign on social security for health care on a voluntary contribution basis. The NSSF will further promote the campaign to reach more people, especially those who are self-employed, to bridge their information gap on its schemes. The Voluntary Contribution Health Care Social Security Scheme Fund was officially launched on Nov. 14 along with the Programme for Vocational and Technical Tra ining for Youth from Poor and Vulnerable Families.
