Phnom Penh: The Online Business Registration Service (OBR), known as Single Portal, has successfully registered 46,776 businesses amounting to US$18.23 billion by June of this year, as reported by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Ministry disclosed these figures in a report released on Sunday, celebrating the five-year anniversary of the Single Portal’s establishment from June 2020 to June 2025. The registered businesses span sectors such as management consultancy, manufacturing, and financial and insurance activities. Notably, 17,240 of these businesses are owned by women, highlighting the platform’s inclusive reach.
The report further emphasized the Single Portal’s role as a significant governmental achievement, reflecting the administration’s response to private sector demands for an improved business environment in Cambodia. The OBR has streamlined procedures, reduced costs, and facilitated the establishment of private sector businesses across the Kingdom.
Moreover, over the past five years, the OBR has efficiently coordinated business registration processes, thereby enhancing the business environment and promoting the digital economy in Cambodia. The system has simplified complex procedures, eliminated redundant information requirements, and saved both time and resources.
The Ministry’s report also highlighted the collaboration between various governmental bodies and the private sector in achieving these milestones. Currently, the Single Portal offers 33 public services provided by 21 ministries and institutions, underscoring the comprehensive support available to business owners through this platform.
