Officials from S. Korea, U.S., Japan agree to enhance cooperation in export controls

Senior officials from South Korea, the United States and Japan have held talks and agreed to bolster cooperation in the fields of export controls and technology protection, Seoul's industry ministry said Friday. The agreement was made at a meeting called the Disruptive Technology Protection Network Summit in Washington earlier this week, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Disruptive technologies refer to those having a crucial impact on the national economy and security, with areas including semiconductors, artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
