One-Stop Service Reviews Application of US$318 Million Investment Projects in Cambodia

Phnom Penh: The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) convened a One-Stop Service meeting to evaluate 13 investment project applications totaling US$318 million. The meeting, chaired by H.E. Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of CDC's Cambodian Investment Board (CIB), took place at the CDC headquarters in Phnom Penh and included representatives from various ministries, institutions, and provincial administrations.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, one of the prominent applications under review was for the expansion of an iron ore business in Kampot province. Additionally, twelve new projects were proposed across several Cambodian provinces, including Kandal, Kampong Speu, Takeo, Kampot, and Mondulkiri.

The projects, which focus on manufacturing key products such as kitchen and bathroom supplies, sanitary equipment, and electronic appliances made from both plastic and metal, aim to enhance Cambodia's industrial output. A notable project among these is the proposed development of a 150-megawatt wind power generation station, reflecting a growing interest in renewable energy sources.

Once operational, these projects are anticipated to generate approximately 7,300 jobs, significantly contributing to the local economy and employment landscape.
