Phnom penh: In 2024, more than 240,000 Cambodians and Koreans travelled between the two countries, reflecting the positive outcome of ongoing people-to-people exchanges. The remarks were made by Mr. Kim Hyunsoo, Charg© d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Cambodia, during the celebration of the Republic of Korea National Day and the 77th Armed Forces Day, organised by the Embassy at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra on Oct. 1.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Mr. Kim Hyunsoo reaffirmed the Korean government's commitment to strengthening the enduring friendship between the two countries, which was elevated to a strategic partnership in 2024. He underscored Korea's determination to further deepen cooperation and to build prosperity and peace for the peoples of both nations.
Representing the Royal Government of Cambodia at the event, H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, conveyed his profound gratitude to the Government and people of Korea for their continuous cooperation and support in Cambodia's development, particularly in people-to-people exchanges, the promotion of tourism flows, direct flight connections, and investment in Cambodia's tourism sector.
On this occasion, the Minister warmly invited Korean and international tourists to visit Cambodia to explore its tourism potential and enjoy the warm hospitality of the Cambodian people, highlighting the country's peace, political stability, social order, development in all sectors, and strong security ensured by the Royal Government.
