KUCHING, The Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) will organise the 1446H/2024 Maal Hijrah Festival at Masjid Jamek here on July 12-14. LAKMNS chief executive officer Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai said the festival will also involve the participation of people from various races and religions. "In addition to being a medium of sharing knowledge, enlivening the atmosphere of the mosque as a one-stop centre, cultivating sustainability and a healthy lifestyle, the festival is also a platform to promote unity. "As such, looking at the current needs, LAKMNS has taken an innovative and dynamic approach to drawing closer to the people, especially youths to return to the mosque institution,' he told a media conference on the 1446H/2024M Maal Hijrah Festival here today. Abdul Wahap said the festival is one of its initiatives to enliven the celebration of the Islamic New Year. "There will also be the Jualan Rahmah on July 13-14 in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Liv ing (KPDN). "Some of the activities lined up include Malam Cinta Rasul, Cycling Convoy, Hijrah Run, Career and Education Exhibition, badminton, bowling and e-sport competitions and a lucky draw,' he said.
