The Perak-level Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang Convoy (KMJG) 2023 began its journey today and the Perakians have been urged to demonstrate their patriotism by hoisting Jalur Gemilang on their respective premises and residences.
State deputy secretary (Management) Datuk Nor Sham Rahman said the initiative to fly the Jalur Gemilang was part of efforts to show the love for the country.
“Let us show love for the country and pay tribute to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters,” she said after flagging off the convoy here today.
Meanwhile, state Information Department (JaPen) director Mohd Rizal Hashim in his speech said that 50 participants from various government agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are taking part in the five-day convoy.
“The 670-kilometre journey will take the convoy through various districts by distributing the Jalur Gemilang to members of the public at their offices, homes, business premises and vehicles,” he said.
Perak KMJG 2023 involved 15 events, with 33 stops, in all districts in the state.
