PM Announces 497 Free Buses for Citizens Traveling Home for Pchum Ben Festival

Phnom penh: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet announced that 497 buses will be made available free of charge to transport citizens between Phnom Penh and their hometowns during the upcoming Pchum Ben Festival.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, in a message posted on his social media platforms this morning, Samdech Thipadei stated that the buses will operate along seven major routes. Detailed information on these routes will be released soon by Phnom Penh Municipal Hall. "I hope this arrangement will help ease travel burdens for citizens during this year's traditional Khmer Pchum Ben Festival," he said.

Meanwhile, H.E. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh, confirmed that the Phnom Penh Municipal Administration has prepared a total of 597 buses for public transportation during the festival, which will run for six days from Sept. 20 to 25. According to the governor, 100 of these buses will be designated for daily transport within Phnom Penh, including routes to and from Techo International Airport.
