KUALA LUMPUR, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his Chinese counterpart, Premier Li Qiang witnessed the exchange of 14 documents during the latter's three-day official visit to Malaysia which concluded today. The exchange of the documents, which cover various areas of interest, also showcases the enhanced cooperation between the two nations over the past five decades. As stated in the Joint Statement between the Republic of China and Malaysia on Deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Towards China-Malaysia Community with a Shared Future released today, the documents are: Five-Year Programme for Economic and Trade Cooperation between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the People's Republic of China (2024-2028) Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the People's Republic of China on Strengthening Investment Cooperation in the Digital Economy Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of t he People's Republic of China on Promoting Investment Cooperation in Green Development Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the People's Republic of China on Cooperation in the Field of Housing and Urban Development Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the People's Republic of China on Science and Technology People-to-People Exchange Programme Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the People's Republic of China on Cooperation in the Field of Higher Education Executive Programme for the Implementation of the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the People's Republic of China (2024- 2029) Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the People's Republic of China on Cooperation in the Field of Tourism Agreement between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the P eople's Republic of China on Cooperation in Preventing and Combating Transnational Crime Letter of Intent between the Ministry of Home Affairs, Malaysia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the People's Republic of China on Visa Exemption Protocol of Phytosanitary Requirement for Export of Fresh Durian Fruits from Malaysia to China between the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia and the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China Joint Statement of the Ministry of Finance of Malaysia and the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China on Single Window Cooperation in Cross-Border Trade Memorandum of Understanding between the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and the State Post Bureau of the People's Republic of China on Strengthening Cooperation in the Postal Field Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Malaysia and China Media Group of the People's Republic of China on Cooperation in the Field of Media Li a rrived in Malaysia for an official three-day visit on Tuesday, the third and last leg of his eight-day tour that has taken him to New Zealand and Australia. Li's visit coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, following the signing of the Joint Communiqué between second Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein and then Chinese Premier Chou En Lai on May 31, 1974.
