Takeo: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has reaffirmed that Cambodia does not interfere in the internal political affairs of any other country. The statement was made during the celebration of the 20th National Fisheries Day 2025 at Boeung Tonle Bati in Kraing Thnong commune, Bati district.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized that conflicts within a country should be resolved by its own people. He urged countries to stop blaming Cambodia for their internal issues, warning that continued accusations might compel Cambodia to respond. The Prime Minister noted that Cambodia has maintained patience for the sake of good relations, despite past slanders from Thailand.
Prime Minister Hun Manet mentioned that Cambodia possesses evidence of past accusations but has chosen not to escalate these issues to avoid conflict with its neighbor. He stressed that Cambodia's actions are focused on defending the honour, dignity, sovereignty, and supreme interests of its people and nation.
Tensions between Cambodia and Thailand recently heightened when Thai military forces opened fire on a Cambodian army post in Techo Morokot village, Morokot commune, Choam Khsan district, Preah Vihear province. This area, long recognized as Cambodian territory, was attacked at around 5:30 a.m. on May 28, 2025, resulting in the death of a Cambodian soldier.
