The preparation of a construction project of a bridge crossing the Mekong River is well on track, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport. The China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), the contractor for the project, has already prepared locations for office operations, machinery warehouses, and storage of construction materials. The firm is building a temporary port that is now 80 percent complete to transport construction materials to the construction site. Situated to the southeast of Phnom Penh, the 3,700-metre bridge with a 120-metre flyover will link the western Xi Jinping Boulevard and the future Phnom Penh-Bavet expressway. The construction project was estimated to cost US$230 million (of the national budget) and is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. Source: Agence Kampuchea Presse
