Prime Minister and First Lady Donate Solar Lamps to Thbong Khmum Residents

Thbong khmum: Cambodia's Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet have donated 614 solar lamps to residents of Thbong Khmum province to improve safety and security ahead of the Pchum Ben Festival.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the donation was presented on Aug. 24 by H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, who also chairs the Royal Government Working Group for Thbong Khmum. The ceremony, held at Heng Samrin Chork High School, was attended by Thbong Khmum Provincial Governor H.E. Pen Kosal and local authorities.

H.E. Minister presided over a community gathering and oversaw the symbolic installation of some of the solar lamp posts along a portion of Road 370 in O' Reang Ov district.

The donation reflects the Prime Minister and First Lady's commitment to the well-being of the province's citizens. The lamps are expected to enhance safety for travellers and support local livelihoods by making it easier to transport agricultural products to markets during early morning and evening hours.

He urged residents to maintain the lights and uphold a clean, green, and beautiful community culture.

The solar lamps will illuminate a 30-kilometre stretch of Road 370, from National Road 11 in O' Reang Ov district to National Road 7 in Suong city. The route passes through the O' Reang Ov and Thbong Khmum districts, as well as Suong city.
