Phnom penh: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has sent a congratulatory message to H.E. S©bastien LECORNU on his appointment as Prime Minister of the French Republic. "On behalf of the Royal Government and the people of Cambodia, I extend my warmest congratulations on your appointment, on September 9, 2025, as Prime Minister of the French Republic," wrote Samdech Thipadei in his message dated Sept. 14.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Thipadei emphasized that S©bastien LECORNU's accession to the high office marks a significant milestone in his political career and opens new opportunities for strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and France, which are based on a shared history and common values. The Cambodian Prime Minister reaffirmed the Royal Government's full commitment to working closely with the French government to revitalize their strategic partnership and prepare for upcoming events, including the Francophonie Summit to be held in Cambodia in 2026.
Samdech Thipadei expressed his anticipation for a possible visit from the French Prime Minister to Cambodia. He concluded his message with assurances of his highest consideration and sincere wishes for Mr. LECORNU's success in his new responsibilities.
