Phnom penh: The Royal Government of Cambodia has designated Dec. 7 as Civil Aviation Day in the country. This move aims to promote the development of air transport in accordance with the National Policy on Air Transport 2025-2035, as stated in a directive released this morning.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) has been tasked with coordinating with various ministries, institutions, and stakeholders to organize activities such as aviation exhibitions, visit programs, outreach campaigns, online information sharing, and award ceremonies to honor outstanding aviation staff.
The National Policy on Air Transport 2025-2035, adopted on April 4, 2025, outlines a goal of attracting 25 million air passengers and 205,000 tonnes of air cargo by 2035.
A report from the SSCA highlighted that Cambodia's three international airports collectively managed a record 6.2 million passengers in 2024, with air cargo reaching 77,800 tonnes.
