South Korea expressed condolences Thursday over the deadly earthquake that hit the east coast of Taiwan earlier this week. "We are deeply saddened to hear of the numerous casualties and property damage caused by the earthquake near Hualien," foreign ministry spokesperson Lim Soo-suk told a regular press briefing. South Korea wishes Taiwan a speedy recovery and is willing to provide the support needed for its disaster relief and damage recovery, Lim added. Taiwan was devastated by the powerful quake Wednesday, which left nine dead and over 1,000 injured. No South Korean casualties were reported yet, according to the ministry. Source: Yonhap News Agency
