South Korea will provide US$500,000 worth of humanitarian assistance to Papua New Guinea to help deal with the aftermath of a massive landslide that may have killed thousands, the foreign ministry said Thursday. A massive landslide struck its northern region of Enga province on Friday, with more than 2,000 people estimated to have died and tens of thousands feared to have suffered damage. The foreign ministry said the government hopes the aid will help with the relief efforts and the affected residents quickly return to their daily lives. Source: Yonhap News Agency
