Samdech Techo Hun Sen Denies Thaksin Shinawatra’s Asset Ownership in Cambodia

Phnom penh: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of Cambodia, has affirmed that H.E. Thaksin Shinawatra, the former Prime Minister of Thailand, holds no assets in Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Techo Hun Sen addressed a circulating news report claiming that H.E. Thaksin owns assets in Cambodia and that the Cambodian authorities are preparing to freeze them. He stated on his official Facebook page that despite past issues with H.E. Thaksin, he feels compelled to uphold his integrity and dignity.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen emphasized that neither H.E. Thaksin nor Madame Yingluck possess any assets or sources of income in Cambodia. He highlighted that when they visit the country, they use his vehicles, indicating that Thaksin does not own any assets in Cambodia.

He further clarified that he and H.E. Thaksin have never engaged in discussions about business ventures for personal or family economic gain.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen called for an immediate stop to such information if it originated from Cambodia, stressing the importance of maintaining the nation's dignity and avoiding the spread of false and misleading stories. If the matter originated from Thailand, he suggested that it should be left to the Thai authorities to handle.
