Kuala Lumpur: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, engaged in discussions with His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs of Oman, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, during the 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet emphasized Cambodia's dedication to religious harmony and the Royal Government's efforts to uphold the freedom and peaceful practice of all religions in the country. He highlighted the strong potential for Cambodia and Oman to expand cooperation across various sectors, with ongoing efforts by the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce to explore new trade opportunities and strengthen investment ties with Middle Eastern nations, including Oman.
His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik Al Said recognized Cambodia's strategic role as a gateway for broader engagement with the Middle East, including Oman. He noted that both nations share a commitment to resolving global issues through peaceful means. With the increasing pivot of Gulf countries eastward, the prospects for enhanced Cambodia-Oman cooperation appear promising.
The leaders agreed to encourage relevant ministries and agencies from both countries to explore and develop cooperation in key sectors such as trade, agriculture, and people-to-people exchanges.
