Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister Leaves for China to Attend SCO Plus Summit 2025

Phnom penh: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Plus Summit to be held from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1, 2025 in Tianjin, People's Republic of China, at the invitation of H.E. XI Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Cambodian Premier was seen off at Phnom Penh International Airport this morning by deputy prime ministers, senior ministers, and many other high-ranking officials as well as representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia. A press release indicated that Samdech Thipadei will deliver a statement on the Summit's theme "Implementing Multilateralism, Ensuring Regional Security and Promoting Sustainable Development". On the margins of the summit, the source added, Samdech Thipadei will hold a bilateral meeting with President XI Jinping to deliberate on further strengthening and deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the win-win cooperation between the two coun tries. He is also expected to meet with several foreign leaders to discuss enhancing bilateral ties and cooperation. Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister is accompanied by H.E. SUN Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), along with ministers, senior government officials, and representatives from the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Cambodian Oknha Association.
