Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance Co. on Wednesday reported its second-quarter net income of 612.4 billion won (US$447.4 million), up 1.7 percent from a year earlier. Operating profit for the April-June period was 782.3 billion won, up 4.9 percent from a year ago, the company said in a regulatory filing. Revenue rose 9 percent to 5.52 trillion won. The earnings beat market expectations.
