Samsung SDI Co. on Wednesday reported its third-quarter net profit of 230.4 billion won (US$166.6 million), down 63 percent from a year earlier. The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 129.9 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 465.2 billion won a year ago. Revenue fell 29.8 percent to 3.93 trillion won. The earnings failed to meet market expectations.
