SEOUL, South Korean stocks rebounded late Tuesday morning on the back of technology and foodstuff firms. The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index had gained 3.14 points, or 0.12 percent, to 2,726.13 as of 11:20 a.m. Top tech giant Samsung Electronics moved up 0.65 percent, and LG Electronics shot up 9.75 percent. Foodstuff maker Samyang Foods moved up 4.81 percent, and Orion climbed 0.21 percent. Leading battery firm LG Energy Solution, on the other hand, fell 1.1 percent, and Samsung SDI shed 2.41 percent. Top chemical firm LG Chem lost 1.01 percent, and cosmetics giant Amorepacific slid 0.5 percent. The local currency was trading at 1,359.6 won against the U.S. dollar, up 4.2 won from the previous session's close. Source: Yonhap News Agency
