Phnom Penh: South Australia, a state in the southern central part of Australia, is exploring ways to strengthen cooperation with Cambodia. This intention was expressed when H.E. Ms. Frances Adamson, Governor of South Australia, paid a courtesy call on Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this morning.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the meeting, H.E. Ms. Frances Adamson shared her views on Cambodia's current development and praised the progress in relations and cooperation between the two countries. She also highlighted South Australia's key sectors of potential collaboration, including agriculture, education, tourism, and energy. H.E. Governor expressed hope that South Australia - home to some 4,000 Cambodians - and Cambodia could further expand their cooperation.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet thanked the Government and people of Australia for their support in Cambodia's peacebuilding, reconstruction, and development efforts. He also expressed optimism about strengthening cooperation with South Australia in specific sectors that could enhance people-to-people connectivity.
