KUALA LUMPUR, A strong earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.3 on the Richter scale, occurred at 7.58 am today in Taiwan, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department. It said in a statement that the epicentre of the quake was 130 km southeast of Taichung, Taiwan at a depth of 47 km. The quake did not pose any threat of a tsunami to Malaysia, it added.
