Ta Moan Thom Temple: An ancient heritage site located in Banteay Ampil district, Oddar Meanchey province of Cambodia, welcomed a large number of visitors on June 23, 2025.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, among the visitors were Buddhist monks and laypeople from the provinces of Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey and Siem Reap, as well as Phnom Penh capital. Their presence highlighted a deep appreciation for national cultural heritage and the peace and development that have facilitated greater access to historic sites.
Venerable Sokhom from Siem Reap expressed his joy during the visit, stating, ‘I am truly delighted to be here. Ta Moan Thom Temple is remarkably well-preserved and beautiful. Being here reminds me of the great legacy left behind by our Khmer ancestors. This is a priceless heritage that must be preserved for future generations. I hope this temple will become a significant tourist destination that not only boosts the local economy but also showcases the richness of Khmer culture to the world.’
Sovannara, a resident of Banteay Meanchey province, also shared his excitement: ‘I never imagined that Ta Moan Thom Temple would be this stunning. I had heard of it before but never had the chance to visit. Seeing it with my own eyes made me emotional and extremely proud of our Khmer heritage. The road to get here is convenient, and the atmosphere around the temple is peaceful and refreshing. I’m truly impressed.’
Lina, a student from Phnom Penh who visited the site with friends, remarked: ‘I was deeply moved by my first visit to Ta Moan Thom Temple. It’s a wonderful experience. Exploring ancient sites like this helps us better understand the history and civilisation of our Khmer people. I will definitely recommend my friends and family to come here.’
