Their Majesties the King and Queen-Mother Meet Chinese President and Spouse in Beijing

Beijing: His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, and Her Majesty the Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan in Beijing on Tuesday.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the meeting, President Xi Jinping extended a warm welcome to the Cambodian monarchs for visiting China again and invited His Majesty the King to attend events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

President Xi recalled his state visit to Cambodia in April, noting the hospitality he received from His Majesty the King and the Cambodian people. He emphasized the strong ties between China and Cambodia, describing their relationship as an ironclad friendship that has withstood international challenges and should be cherished by both nations.

In light of the current international situation, President Xi stressed the importance of China and Cambodia standing firmly together, fostering traditional friendship, and enhancing cooperation. He expressed China's support for Cambodia's development path, aiming for long-term peace and stability.

Their Majesties the King and Queen-Mother expressed their pleasure in visiting China again and participating in the commemorative events. They acknowledged the significant contributions of the Chinese people to world peace. Reflecting on President Xi's visit to Cambodia, they highlighted the fruitful discussions and the strategic perspective Cambodia holds towards bilateral relations, emphasizing the desire to continue building a strong Cambodia-China community with a shared future.
