The foreign ministers of South Korea and Thailand will hold talks this week to discuss ways to bolster cooperation in various sectors, such as trade, investment, labor and culture, Seoul's foreign ministry said Thursday. Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul will meet with his Thai counterpart, Maris Sangiampongsa, in Seoul on Friday, according to spokesperson Lee Jae-woong. "Thailand is a traditional ally that was the first Asian nation to express its intention to send troops during the (1950-53) Korean War and is the second-largest economy in Southeast Asia," Lee said in a regular press briefing. As Thailand assumes the role of South Korea-ASEAN coordinator this month, the government plans to discuss ways to enhance relations, Lee said. Source: Yonhap News Agency
