Tourism Ministry and Chinese Firm Discuss Vocational Training Cooperation

Phnom penh: The Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia and the International Economic and Technical Cooperation Company have engaged in discussions to explore potential cooperation in vocational and professional training programmes that align with current market needs, particularly focusing on Smart Tourism and Hotel Management.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting was held yesterday afternoon at the Ministry, where H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, met with Mrs. Hu Heng, Director General of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the International Economic and Technical Cooperation Company, headquartered in Wuhan City, People's Republic of China.

During the meeting, H.E. Minister Huot Hak expressed his appreciation for the company's initiative to support human resource development within Cambodia's tourism sector. This is to be achieved through training programmes aimed at teachers and students in the fields of Smart Tourism and Hotel Management. These initiatives are designed to enhance education quality and expand job opportunities in the tourism industry.

Additionally, both parties agreed to enhance cooperation in improving Chinese language skills among Chinese-speaking tour guides, along with organising further training courses to meet the increasing demand from Chinese tourists.

The discussions also included establishing partnerships with Chinese entities to jointly organise major tourism exchange conferences and international vocational tourism education events in Cambodia. The Ministry of Tourism has welcomed these proposals and has assured its readiness to provide full support and facilitation to these cooperative efforts.
