A yacht headed to Jeju from Taiwan carrying three people aboard has lost contact, prompting the Coast Guard to launch a search, officials said Sunday. The Jeju coast guard officials said they received a report the 19.5-ton yacht lost contact around 4:42 p.m., and began a search with seven vessels but were experiencing difficulty due to bad weather. The yacht left Taiwan on Thursday and was scheduled to arrive in Jeju on Monday morning. All three people aboard the yacht are South Korean nationals. Source: Yonhap News Agency
