President Yoon Suk Yeol held a dinner meeting with the new leadership of the ruling People Power Party (PPP) on Monday, officials said. The meeting, held at the presidential residence, was attended by new interim leader Hwang Woo-yea and Choo Kyung-ho, the new PPP floor leader, as well as other members of the emergency leadership committee, according to presidential spokesperson Kim Soo-kyung. The committee is tasked with organizing a national convention to elect a new party leader following the PPP's crushing defeat in the April 10 parliamentary elections. At the meeting, Yoon expressed his intent to "reflect on" the public sentiment shown in the recent general elections, according to Kim. Hwang said he will work to thoroughly prepare for the upcoming party convention and strengthen cooperation with other parties. Source: Yonhap News Agency
