Angkor Sankranta 2025 Preparations in Full Swing, Construction Reaches 60% Completion

Siem Reap: With just over two weeks remaining until the highly anticipated Angkor Sankranta 2025 celebrations, construction teams are working tirelessly to complete the various structures and installations required for the event.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, significant progress has been made across the event sites. Mr. Som Ratana, Head of Public Relations for Angkor Sankranta, stated, "As of today, Mar. 27, 2025, construction within the 'My Village' programme area has reached approximately 60-70 percent completion. Work is being accelerated at other locations as well. However, some installations are intentionally being held off until closer to the event."

The Angkor Sankranta 2025 festivities will span six key locations: the Angkor Wat Temple complex, the Royal Residence Garden, Siem Reap River, King's Road, Pub Street, and Angkor-Gyeongju. The event promises a diverse range of entertainment and cultural experiences, including "Angkor's Heartbeat" Show, a new and immersive theatrical experience within the Angkor Wat Temple complex (south library) over three nights.

The 'My Village' Programme will showcase traditional Cambodian village life and activities. Other attractions include Traditional Chess (Ok Chaktrang) Competitions, the Angkor Sankranta Parade, Ancient Khmer Mixed Martial Arts Demonstrations, Traditional and Popular Dance Performances, the 'Angkor Smile Garden', 'Let's Play Water' (Tos Tos Leng Teuk), the "Moni Harotey" Garden, the Siem Reap River Market, Ox and Buffalo Cart Races, and the Srang Preah (Buddha bathing ceremony).

The 'Angkor's Heartbeat' Show, in particular, is generating significant excitement as it offers a unique opportunity for the public to experience a theatrical production within the historic Angkor Wat Temple grounds.

Organisers are confident that Angkor Sankranta 2025 will be a resounding success, offering both locals and international visitors an unforgettable celebration of Cambodian culture and tradition.
